A friend is part time on the state Marine Patrol. What he does mostly is stop guys that are going too fast. He wants to just give them a warning so that he doesn't get tied up with writing a summons or having to go to court which is very inconvenient for him. However, a lot of the time they get arrogant and don't want to cooperate, and it becomes apparent that they have probably been drinking. Then he asks for their license, and because of the poor attitude he calls it in. Then half the time it comes back that they have outstanding warrants, so now he has to arrest them which gets to be dicey being in a boat and alone, so he has to call for back-up. So it makes for a long day and then having to appear in court messes up his regular job, all because these jerks can't handle their liquor.
