He worked for his nephew that owned a dairy. He would drive the old Ford tractor with a loader, no lights, about 5 miles of winding lake side road to the nearest beer joint. Every evening, weather didn't matter, he'd leave before dark, but not come home until closing time.
Did it for years, never heard of him getting stopped or in a wreck. Amazing he didn't get hit from behind with no lights!
Oh, and this was a crusty old coot, he was known as 'Mean Ol' Man'! The bar he went to was the local long hair hippy type loud rock and roll pot head hang out! I was too young to drink then but I suspect there were some interesting moments there! LOL
