That picture is very odd. At first glance it appears the boiler failed in the firebox area. Second glance shows the chimney mounted directly above what appears to be the firebox, but maybe its a return flue boiler. Then the steering wheel seems to suggest the operating position was on the piece thats missing but then the fire hole opening appears to be on the opposite end. Any idea what this engine was like pre disaster?
