It's that time of year again where there never seems to be enough hours in the day to accomplish everything that needs attended to. We've made good progress on the tobacco and will probably finish up coultering in the final application of nitrogen on the corn tomorrow. Here's a few pics from the last several days. dad has been running the baccer Coulter rig. He finally finished up with the 28 S.
Me and Cruze were busy plowing out and applying the 0-2-41 fertlizer to the baccer till we had a welcome rain delay. It dried out enough for Dad to start back today on that. Jim in NC if you get caught up, come on over and I'll get the rollers on the 140 where you can make a few rounds for old times sake. Lol.
I was able to get going on cultivating the corn. The 574 brought back fond memories of plowing corn years ago, except with then a 4 row Lilliston. I have a IH 183 8 row 30 inch on it now. It does surprisingly well with it.
Oldest son got his corn plowed with the Ole 300. I think it got a little too good to him after we finished tweaking the cultivator as he wanted to turn around and plow it again. I had to remind him that gas is $ 4.15 a gallon and it surely wasn't necessary right now. My buddy and myself got all of the soybean land disked. Between the A/C on the tractor, and also the house A/C going on vacation, it's been a bit draining on these 90 degree days. Hopefully this will all be resolved next week in time to plant soybeans. I hope everyone else's gardening and crops are going well thus far.

Today's Featured Article - Memories of an IH Super A When I was ? up to 10, I worked on my Papaw's farm in Greeneville, TN every summer. As I grew older (7), it was the thrill of my day to ride or drive on the tractor. My Papaw had a 1954 IH Super A that he bought to replace a Cub. My Papaw raised "baccer" (tobacco) and corn with the Super A, but the fondest memory was of the sawmill. He owned a small sawmill for sawing "baccer" sticks. The Super A was the powerplant. When I was old enough (7 or 8), I would get up early and be dressed to
