Valve in Head and I engines and Over Head Valve engines are the same thing. F head has exhaust in the block and intake in the head. Flat head engines (or side Valve have all valves in the block, T head has intake on one side and exhaust on the other but in the block. Single OHC has valves in the head and the cam. DOHC has 2 cams in the head and all the valves as well. There are other exotic and mundane designs like valves operating sideways, and sleeve valve engines. Jim
