To look at this another way, if you are reasonably mechanically adept, can clean up the area and keep it clean while working AND can take note of EXACTLY how a couple of little spring(s) and linkage(s) are hooked up and put it back together correctly it's not hard to do and CHEAP and may put off the task of R+R'ing the I.P. and the $$$ of sending it off/taking it to a shop, and spending $$$ there for a long time.
The procedure has been covered many times in the Massey or Ford Forums and an archive search should turn up that info. (Or would on a site with decent software!)
As is always a good idea, before startup, be prepared to block off the air intake on the odd chance something has been put together wrong or jammed and the engine "runs away" at startup.
