If I have to mow really tall grass, to prevent clumping, I'll adjust the top link so the mower deck is at an angle with the ground. That way the blade cuts the grass high in the front and then chops it into smaller pieces as the grass gets to the rear of the blade. A side discharge then allows me to cut the clippings a second time. If I have excessive clippings, I'll make a 12 ft wide windrow and pick them up with a 54 inch lawn sweeper..
