The weed is henbit and is (unfortunately) better controlled in the fall with 2-4D, you're only herbicide option now is a glyphosate but, as you know, that'll kill your flowers too. The silver lining is that henbit comes and goes like a flash in the pan; it'll be gone before you know it! Maybe try a prodiamine-containing fertilizer this fall as a winterizer or put it down earlier in the spring. All I really know, is henbit is an uphill fight and about the only weed I hate worse than crabgrass...it's second to chiggars on my 'Top 10 Most Hated Organisms' list.
