Lloyd welcome to YT! Now I am an IH guy but on the farm growing up we sort of inherited a 65 which I wouldnt say is the big brother to a 35. It had the differential lock actuated by a bar type pedal behind your right foot. And as the other gentleman said it would occasionally stick down. If a quick alternating jab on the two brake pedals did not pop it back up you would have to grab it as said. I may be off base here but I do not think a tractor was ever equipped with a ..auto.. locking style differential. But yes they have a differential that allows one wheel to spin if traction is lost and for different wheel speeds in turns. My guess is if this tractor does not have a manually applied differential lock and operated normally before and now the rear wheels seem to be locked together then something has broke and gotten jammed in the differential. I know they have a plate you can pull to look in but not sure if you can see the differential through there. There is also a Massey brand specific topic section on here if you want to post this over there. See link.

Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
