The only weak spot is the rear end, but under normal use this shouldn't be a problem. All 88's had live PTO, there is an adjustment to the PTO clutch assembly so if it isn't working properly this can be fixed. Don't ever use extra pressure on the PTO lever to keep the PTO engaged, this is a costly mistake. The Bosch injector pumps will cost a bundle to have repaired if it goes out. In excess of $1000 most places. As far as power steering goes, these are about the easiest manually turning tractors made so if it isn't easy to turn something is wrong. It would generally be easier and more cost effective to repair the existing manual unit than try and find a power one unless you plan on using a loader. I don't have my book with me on HP but around 56 comes to mind. There are several 3pt conversions available for them that attach quite easily. Most will go across the bonnet covering the PTO, so make sure this is serviced before installing one. The live hydraulics on one is most impressive and can easily lift the weight of the tractor (don't ask). Overall, this tractor will impress anyone who uses it. If I had anything to change it would be the brakes, brake pedal positioning and the seat suspension. But that is just personal preferance, not because it dosen't work. I have both the Super 77 diesel and Super 88 diesel and have spent many hours on them...
