I never had a 435d. I had a 440 dozer with the Detroit in it. I never had a hard time starting it, unless it's motor was different. It had a plug in the intake I'd take out , squirt a little starting fluid in it and it'd take right off at 0 degrees sitting out doors. I skidded logs with most all one Winter.
