I owned a JD435. It was 6th off the production line (Serial number was 435006 if I recall correctly). I paid $2000 for it in the early '80's. It was my first tractor and I used on the ranch for about 10 years. the 2-53 Detroit Diesel was a hard starter in cold weather but was a real capable machine compared to the 2N and 9N Fords of my neighbors. It had power steering and the Touch-O-Matic three point. I sold it when I sold the place to some apple knocker from Okanogan,WA in 1992 for $1200 more than I paid for it with a well used 5 foot $300 Bush Hog cutter.
