Lots of electricians on this board. I got journeyman card in 1974. It wasnt until about 1995 that arc flash became a prime safety focus and proper safety gear became a requirement in industrial applications.. After a couple of training sessions ya get a new attitude about it. The training films show some horrible burns and deaths etc, hard to watch. And household electrical systems have more than enough power to blind and burn. Removing a panel cover is one of the most hazardous steps and a proper face shield is a wise choice.
