Well, I wouldn't take my knobs off for nothing. I don't know, over time I guess you learn how to drive with them. Hold knobs or steering wheel in ways that won't hurt if it gets away from ya. And get good at just getting your hands out of the way and just let it go if it gets away from ya. That, and over time, you kind of get educated as to when that might happen. A great uncle of mine use to get the back of his hand wacked. Get MAD. Take it off and throw it as hard as he could. A couple days later, he'd go walking around to see if he could find it, and put it back on his tractor. Wouldn't take him long to decide he'd rather have it back on.
