Quote: CVPost-jm. (quoted from post at 16:25:27 12/27/21) I have had a hay day this year at the farm with two New John Deers there and the Vicon/KUBOTAs had about 30 real cattle folks that bale a lot of hay. After the day the overwhelming concuss was the KUBOTA baler made a better bale faster or at least as fast. First cutting fescue and orchard grass. OF the 6 the dealership sold last year 4 of them replaced JOHN DEER. Yes they know KUBOTA is on the scene . Figures are not in but everyone is predicting last year will be the first that KUBOTA has surpassed Deer in the under 10ohp market.
The vicon baler is an European baler and a much better performer. The us made baler are very old technology.
John Deere would be better off selling the line of balers designed and built at their French factory.Or take the design and built it in USA. Only isdue is balers do not do 60 inches wide bales. The French built Deere 960 and 990 gareless round balers are impossible to beat when it comes to speed.
