On my android phone you can slide your finger from bottom to top on the first screen. This brings up all the apps installed on the phone and a search bar at the top of the phone screen. Type in ringtone in the search bar. This should bring up the volume setting of the ringtone. Run that volume adjustment slider to the far right to maximum volume that ringtone will be LOUD & I mean LOUD. A ringtone with bells in it would be best. Also turn on the vibration setting for incoming calls. Some phones have a gear wheel icon on them which takes you to the same settings screen..
