A couple of weeks ago, I posted a pic of this tractor when it was coming up for auction on a local online auction.
It was described as a '52 8N, and said it wasn't running, had been in storage, and needed a tune up. I asked what people thought it would sell for. Consensus was $600 to $800. Bidding just ended on it for $875.
I didn't bid. I stopped at the auction yard and scoped it out in person, and just couldn't get excited. This picture does wonders for it. Up close, the gray looked like someone had just shot a coat of paint on it without doing any prep work, you can see the overspray on the tires. The steering had about a half turn of play. The lid on the rear of the hood had cobbled up hinges on it, etc. Plus non-running. Plus Ford experts said it couldn't be a '52 8N.
I've always thought it would be both fun and handy to have one of those little Fords, but that one wasn't the one.

The generator was shot as well as all the wiring. I dropped off the tractor expecting a transformation from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system utilizing the original generator housing, and a total rewiring of the whole tractor. The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
