300's & 350's are 3rd & 4th generation of the Farmall H first introduced by IH in 1939. HP rating between an A & B JD's, more HP & weight than a B, but less weight & HP than an A. It was available with factory hydraulics (not live) that JD's didn't have. JD did come out w/ after-market power trol hydraulic pumps that could be added to earlier tractors. H series always used a foot clutch, witch many people prefer. 300's & 350's were basically updated H's with a higher RPM engines, more compression, improved transmissions, live PTO & live hydraulics, TA's, & power steering options. The 350 also offered a direct start continental diesel engine. It was IH's first offering of a direct start diesel. It is a one off engine. The only other tractor that I know of that used the same engine was a 333 Massey. Repair parts for that engine are difficult to find. IMHO, 300's & 350's were dependable 2-3 plow, light duty tractors that had a great deal of use history behind them.

Dad bought the 202 new in 1962, and I recall quite clearly going to the dealer with him to sign for it.
