Some years back I invested in a new battery charger that also had desulfate mode. Mine is Stanley brand, but at that time it had identical chargers in Black & Decker and in Dewalt models as well, but for vastly differing prices.
I bought the cheapest of the three at the time, the Stanley.
We were given an Interstate marine battery one time that read proper voltage but had no power to start even a riding mower. It sat here for 1 1/2 years before getting the new charger. I had it hooked up for 3 or 4 days/nights. I took voltage reading and everything showed the same. I wasn't holding my breath. But I popped that battery into a truck last Spring and it held enough charge to start that truck repeatedly. I topped up the charge because that truck would be sitting for a while. The battery didn't seem to care. It sat for several months and, when asked, fired the truck engine like a new battery.
I'm a believer! Desulfators WORK!!
