Years ago South Dakota (best oat ground in the world) went through a terrible drought and Wilfred Brimmely was advertising the human benefits of oatmeal. Price of Dakota oats for horses became economically unreasonable. We fed, at height of breeding season, a semi load/week. Bought Scandinavian oats through the Port of Catoosa cheaper than Dakota oats. Big problem was Ca/P ratios werent balanced the way the northern oats were.
