The flail mowers are a different type of animal, they take a different mentality than a common rotarty mower. There are some things they do not do well like rocks, big limbs abd particularry wire,ropes and garden hose. Flail mowers do not come in stump jumper types either. I have used a flail mower since the late 7o's and I prefer it to the common rotary mower. If you have humps in your ground it will eventually smooth them out and the nicest thing is that it doesn't throw stuff. If it hits a bottle it just leaves it in a pile and goes on. People either love flail lmower or people hate them, rarely any betweeen people. I am thoroughly sold on the concept. I mow most of my yard with one but I do have to use the lawn mower close to the house.
