My concern though, the wires are not secured in the gray piece. If they vibrate loose, or get pulled out, they can short or get plugged back in backward.
Solution would be to add another pigtail harness that snaps in the extension harness, or cut and permanently splice the original wires. All it is doing is adding the diode to the circuit.
