The Americans in California are exactly like all other Americans. More Okies in Bakersfield than in Ok city. It is a macho thing. It allows people that have rarely ever been out of the county or state to use phrases that they think are funny...like land of the fruits and nuts...40 year old yuccks. Interesting, I have never heard Californians say disparaging things about mid-westerners or call them childish names. Just sunshine envy in most cases. If the Ca laws don't apply in the other states...then don't pass them! Simple.
