I doubt it is possible to wear out that pump in any of our lifetimes. However, they are susceptible to dirt hanging things up, as the spools are controlled by strategically placed orifices, and not actually connected to the control lever. If you get a book and make all the appropriate adjustment, and still no results, youre gonna have to remove the pump and strip it down. The reseal kit is about $40, for a hand full of o-rings and a couple gaskets and piston springs. Just be careful and keep that little row of spools in the right order when you knock them out. Other than that, a real easy repair job.
