I remember the first red 6000 to reach our local ford dealer in August 1961. I remember because it was near my 13th birthday and I was with my dad. The ford dealership was adjacent to our Oliver and A/C dealer and only a couple blocks from our JD dealer so it drew a small crowd of farmers to the big ford lot. The 6000 was beautiful and several guys got to drive it around the lot. One guy took it into a side street that went to the rail yard and opened it up in 10th gear. It was fast!!! Question...does anyone know what the selling price was?
