I think your assessment of being impossible to find is pretty spot on. You're talking about a special made part from 70 years ago on something that's not terribly common. Industrial equipment production tends to be a fraction of farm tractor production.
There are ways to get around the problem of the return. Most obvious would be a block off plate for where the original valve hangs with a bung welded in it to accept the return hose from a generic valve. Use a thick enough plate and you can just drill and thread the fitting directly into the plate.
