Hey guys, I have a Massey Ferguson 165 Perkins diesel. I was having a bit of engine oil dripping from the weep holes and now have the tractor split for a rear main seal replacement. While apart I noticed the middle shaft has a lot of play in it, I know it goes into a bearing so is it ok to have up and down play in that shaft? I added a picture of it. The pieces in the picture are from oil pan gasket.
Also, when starting the tractor oil pressure is fine, but after it gets hot if I let it idle the oil pressure will drop to zero, any idea what could cause this? I have bush hogged with it for 2 hours and oil pressure be fine until I idle it. I will be taking the oil pan off and checking oil pump and piston rod bearings.
