Stan, You will learn they don't make things like they used to. When it comes to new washers, I'm lucky if they last past their warranty. Same with dish washer. I was never a fan of extended warranties. I'm glad I bought extended warranty of the washer and dishwasher. If I didn't have extended warranty, I would be buying new washer and dishwasher 1 years after the factory warranty ran out.
I had a washer that lasted 45 years. You will be lucky to get 5 years without a service call. The cost of a service call is more than an extended warranty.
They just don't make things like they used to and brand names are worthless. You may find out brand name appliances are owned by the same company.
