If your fuel gauge is like mine was, there is a huge hole in the float. You might get a good flashlight and look into the fuel tank to hook a wire around the arm and lift it to see if that makes a difference. If that is the problem, it's pretty easy to replace. JD still had the parts for me 5 years ago. Larry
