Had just short of 2200 feet sawed this week for a new roof and possibly enough to build a garden shed. The price was very reasonable. Figured out to about $250 per thousand. Pine and hemlock. Not sure how taxes paid on the woodlots compares to the cost of lumber at the lumber yard over a lifetime.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
