ALL engine oil smells like fuel. I have never gotten where people pull the dipstick and say, "ooh smells like fuel, that's bad..." Used diesel engine oil smells like diesel. Used gasoline engine oil smells like, you guessed it, GASOLINE!
The tractor probably hasn't been there since new so you're not getting some rare gem of a tractor. It was used hard on a farm for many years until it was traded in on something else, or a farmer brought it to his lake property to launch boats and it just stayed there and became community property.
If there are no breaks on the tires, they will last a long time. Weather checking tends to be cosmetic and looks like dry rot.
