Was a good year for oats here finally, tho oats is a worthless crop around here. Selling it for $2.25 to a neighbor, calf feed. Was 34# test weight. Way up from the 27 to 29 we have had the last wet years.
Barley I had trouble feeding into the combine from the windrowing. It was so short the stems fell back straight from the swather and settled down, the pickup belts couldnt pick them up. If they were at an angle the fingers would have grabbed, but I couldnt get it to work. Left 5-10% of the barley stems laying, still had a good yield this year.
