I like Permatex too. I never had a wetted gasked fail, nor have to go back and retorque, being it a head gasket (Copper Coat aerosol), water pump or whatever (Permatex 1,2, or 3 depending on the application). Had numerous dry fail and that's why I started wetting them. Biggest problem was automatic transmission pan sealing. Finally resolved that problem with Permatex 3 but only painting one side of the cork gasket, not both.
