No one asked if it was a diesel and many older diesels shut off with the throttle or pull cable. I would estimate over half of the 4 & 560 diesels IH tractors were left with the key on. Only thing fired up was the fuel gauge so the battery would last months if any good.
Later tractors had some red lights that would flash on if they worked so not as many of them were left with switch on.
