Curious, wouldn't a "true test" be one that mimics operating conditions? You don't run the tractor in the field with the knob pulled out, do you?
Who cares if the tractor makes 216HP with the knob pulled out? You're never going to use it because the knob is pushed in and the tractor is only making oh let's say 92HP.
