The connector has a ground. All of them! The wire may have bounced around enough to fracture where it bent back touching the ground. I would make a bare section where the cable extends beyond that to the rear, and use a 12v source on each wire to see if they light lights and apply brakes. Don't check the ground with hot! If the brakes work from there, do a waterproof splice with solder and shrink tube. Stagger the splices so they are not all in one spot!. Jim
