I have this JD 4020 syncro shift and it has a shifting into reverse problem. All forward gears seem to operate just fine. I can shift it into reverse sometimes five times in a row and it works fine and then the next ten times it will grind the gears. Then on the eleventh time it might go into reverse. Can someone with more experience than me on this transmission tell me if I am in the right forum group and what is causing the shifting problem please. I know because of clutch problems, I am going have to split this case. Thank you all in advance.
