I have zero tolerance for rats, mice, racoons, etc. in my yard and buildings. I've got the blue poison blocks spiked to the walls or in boxes in most buildings. Been rat free for several years. Best trap I found was the old Victor metal gopher traps and also the wooden Victor rat traps. Some fat or peanut butter smeared on the bat tray draws them in. I've caught squirrels the same way. They are not as disgusting as rats but can do about as much damage if you get too many. Hearing about the rats in that 49 Ford about makes me sick. I had mice and racoons living in the 52 Merc before I brought it back to life. You'd never know they had been there now but it took a lot of work.
