I was working at Allis Chalmers at the time. I was starting out in the drafting department, so my name may have been on a drawing, but I seem to remember doing mostly routine drawing revisions. I got to watch the dynamometer testing and also visited the proving grounds where they only had 3 prototypes being given different workouts. I didn't stay until production started, but I believe they had 8 to 10 years of development and testing. I went into a company with rapid development. We sell our prototypes. It was also called something like concurrent development and production. No time to wait until it was perfect. Go, go, go.
