Yes you can if you know how to read the scale on the sweep hand. Set it to the lower left gray scale 1K the red simbel there stands for OHMS. A 6 volt coil will have around 1.5 ohms and a 12 volt 3-4 ohms if I remember right. In this case a digital VOM is better since reading the sweep hand with only a 1K ohm scale can be hard to do with such low ohm values
