That's how I started. The county rep started the ball rolling for me through the American Legion. He had me get an appointment with V.A. and I was awarded 10% disability for the ringing and given a pair of hearing aids. About a month later I got a letter telling me to go to Dublin Ohio for a hearing test. Not too long after the test, the wife was checking our bank account and there was a pretty good amount added to it, then I received a letter telling me that I was awarded 50% along with the 10% for the ringing and I would get X amount every month along with 100% of my medical except for dental paid for. If you are a Vet. don't give up and start at your county V.A. rep. I know it sure has helped me. I would never have been able to get my hips replaced if it weren't for the V.A. Before that, I was on a copay system with them.
