I too have a GT 275. Bought it new in 1998 and it's been a good mower. One thing I've seen others do when mowing, when turning around on a driveway for instance, they stop the mower blades and a few seconds later back on. Some start and stop many times in a short time. I don't stop the blades hardly at all, even getting off the mower (I put a cheater on the seat switch- I don't recommend this for everyone) I don't usually stop the blades but am careful getting off and on. In my theory it's easier on the clutch. (I know some will say that's too dangerous)
