I am in South Dakota. I have 40x64 12 ft walls. Walls are 6 inches of insulation glass bats. Plus tyvek and tin outside, 5/8 OSB inside. Blown in insulation on top of 12 foot tin ceiling. I use a 135K btu reznor at the ceiling in the center facing the two big doors. I keep the tstat set at 38 degrees, turn it up to 50 for working there. BIG heater does that job before I am done with coffee. I just had the 500 gallon tank (400 max fill) summer fill. Check was $360.00 for the 2010-2011 Winter. $1.45 per gal. About $65 per month, 250 gals. . No way you can beat that.
