I was born 35 miles from LaPorte Ind. they are Rum lee oil pulls. They used oil for coolant to allow higher cylinder temperatures to vaporize kerosene. The carbs were special as they started on gasoline, were brought up to temp, then switched to Kerosene. Under load, the carb also provided water injection to quench detonation and add power. The two cylinders were enormous 10 inch bore and 12 inch stroke on some models. Firing two power strokes in a row, then an exhaust and an intake. The operator was very buisy with oilers and oil injector systems to monitor, and chain and capstan steering. My Indiana neighbor had about 20 of them, and was a impromptu dealer. When he passed away there were 15 parked in a wood lot with trees growing up in them, and one running model Z 40-70. They were sold as antiques, not scrapped.
