You didn't time it BEFORE you pulled the pump??The marks may be on the front pulley. Or if it's like a friends ford. There are noo marks. You pull #1 injector and use a dial indicator.Pull the valve cover and watch the valves at #1 cylinder.That will get you pretty close.
