My neighbor was bit by a prairie ratttler and died, but he was pretty old. My big lab got bit and his head swelled up as big as a basketball. I thought sure he would die, but he finally pulled thru. I've killed three on my place. One was just a baby, thin and not very long. These snakes here are not as big or long as that one. I wonder how long they live; looks like that one is 16. That's the most rattles I have ever seen.
