It will never work right until you get that rust out of the wand. Every time the rust pieces cover up the orifice, the line pressure goes up and the unloaded thinks you let go of the trigger, and unloads. If its working sporadically its because the rust doesnt actually get jammed in the orifice, and with the pressure off it can fall away from the orifice and the unloader will make pressure again. So far, I dont think there is anything wrong with the pump.
