i have a 960 ford tractor. last fall i noticed it started to take more revolutions to get it started. when it was hot it really would not turn over very fast. . this spring it got worse. finally in may the starter quit. i took it off and took it apart. took it to a friend to have him check it out. he told me the started was shorted. i bought a new one off ebay. put it on. she starts on the first revolution. shut it off when hot and shell fire right back off so it would seem that the starter was the problem with starting it. i suppose it was drawing the battery down enough to effect the voltage to the dist. didnt realize that for sure. maybe im wrong. what do you think
