It's funny how the manufacturers mixed and matched different vendor parts over the years. I found out once that a steering box from a ford van was a direct bolt on for a chevrolet car. etc. etc.
Advance Auto parts website *used* to have a feature where you could search a part number and it would show every vehicle that part would fit across makes, models and years. I don't think it does that anymore.
The older vehicles I use are made up of parts from ten different ones so..... yeah, you have to simplify things for the counter folks to get what you need.
