Wires cam be correctly installed but one of the tractor components could be bad. This could include internally shorted parts. If the original wiring was working just fine, maybe the install needs to be inspected. If the original was burnt, it was likely not the wires that were responsible, but burnt from the same issue. If the new harness is melted into slag, the repair may be to get a new one, and try again. Looking at the most melted wire and what it supplies/connects to and from is critical in not having it happen twice. Before hooking up the last non-grounded battery cable, put a simple test light (as linked) from that battery terminal, to the cable clamp that attaches to it. With everything turned off, the light should be off. If it is on, something is either turned on, or shorted to ground. Jim
